The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health offers globally recognised and vocationally-directed training courses and qualifications which are designed with the health, safety and risk management sectors in mind. They can be relevant to many different areas of work and all NEBOSH qualifications are recognisable by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM).
Our NEBOSH training courses include a Construction-focused course, a General course and Construction Conversion course and all courses are intended for project managers and supervisors in the construction industry.
Intended for supervisors, building and project managers and those working in senior construction design and management positions.
This course covers the following areas: • The core legal requirements for health and safety in the UK construction industry • The identification of and control of workplace hazards • Managing and controlling hazards in construction activities • Practical application of health and safety in construction
The course has been designed to provide managers and supervisors with the knowledge and awareness they need to advise on risk assessment and health and safety on the site and in the workplace. NEBOSH aims to improve supervisors and managers with the ability to recommend appropriate action through developing their ability to investigate accidents, developing their practical understanding of safety legislation and through building a strong understanding of the human and organisational problems which need to be considered when managing and accessing hazards. On completion of the course, managers should be able to provide practical advice on both welfare and health and safety in the construction industry and make considered decisions and take action when necessary.
There are three modules to this course: NGC1, NCC1 and NCC2. Modules NCG1 and NCC1 are fully taught units and they are assessed through a two-hour written paper. Each examination paper has ten shorter questions and one longer one and all must be answered. All papers are marked by external examiners who are officially appointed by NEBOSH. The third module, NCC2, is a practically-based unit. It is assessed through a two-hour practical exam which is carried out at the candidate’s workplace and is based on testing the application of the taught healthy and safety principles in a construction environment. This module is assessed by the course provider and marked by a qualified safety professional.
The NEBOSH Construction Course is practical, hands-on and can be applied directly to your workplace. We offer some of the highest pass rates in the whole of the UK which ensures our training is of the highest quality and delivers the results you need.
